Two kinds of Brisbane homes, two kinds of jobs
Inner-city Brisbane is split down the middle. On one side you’ve got the apartments and unit blocks, Spring Hill, Petrie Terrace, the CBD edges. On the other, the old timber workers’ cottages that have been here a hundred years and aren’t going anywhere.
They throw up completely different electrical work, and we do plenty of both.
Apartments and units
The common one in a unit is power that was never planned for how you actually live. One double point in the lounge. Nothing useful near the bench. No way to charge an EV in the car park without a conversation with the body corporate first.

Heritage cottages and terraces
The older inner-city homes are where the real surprises live. Rubber-insulated wiring from the 60s that’s gone brittle. A switchboard with ceramic fuses and not a single safety switch. Lovely homes, dodgy guts.
If your place still has a fuse box you have to rewire by hand when it blows, that’s the first thing to sort. A switchboard upgrade brings in proper circuit breakers and RCDs, and we test the existing wiring while we’re in there so you know what you’re working with. Not sure if yours is up to scratch?
