Electrician in Fig Tree Pocket, 4069
Fig Tree Pocket wraps around a tight bend in the Brisbane River, and the blocks here are some of the biggest you’ll find this side of town. Acreage in places. Long driveways, plenty of trees, the odd horse paddock backing onto Lone Pine. It’s a lovely spot to live. It also makes for some of the trickiest electrical jobs we get out west.
A lot of the older timber homes here have been added to over the years, a deck, a granny flat, a workshop down the back. Trouble is, the main switchboard often hasn’t moved on since the place was a three-bedroom cottage. So you’ve got a forty-year-old single-phase board trying to carry ducted aircon, a pool pump, a shed and a car charger all at once. Sometimes there’s aluminium wiring in the mix too. That’s not a sales pitch. It’s just what a house looks like after thirty years of “while we’re at it”.
What we get called out for around here
Switchboard upgrades are the bread and butter in Fig Tree Pocket. Pulling an old fuse board, fitting RCDs and proper circuit breakers, getting the whole thing up to current Queensland standards before anyone hangs another load off it. The switchboard upgrades and safety page walks through what that involves.
Shed and outdoor power. Big blocks need it. Sub-boards out to a shed or studio, weatherproof power points by the pool and patio, lights down a driveway that’s genuinely long enough to need them. We run dedicated circuits in conduit, not a daisy-chain of extension leads under the deck.
Pool wiring has to be done by a licensed electrician in Queensland, full stop. Bonding, safety switches, correct depth and clearances. We know what an inspector wants to see, because we’ve done it on blocks just like yours.
EV charging comes up constantly out here. The garage end is usually the easy bit, it’s the old board that needs sorting first. The air conditioning and EV charging page covers how we size that up. If you want a feel for the spend, our guide to EV charger install costs in Brisbane is honest about it.
Air conditioning on these bigger homes usually means ducted or a multi-head, which is a heavier electrical job than a single split. We handle the wiring and the board side of those installs.
Local means local
We’re up the road in Middle Park, ten minutes off Fig Tree Pocket Road on a good run. No travel fee for the drive. We know the streets, we know what’s behind the meter box on these older homes, and we’d rather quote you straight than guess. Same goes for the neighbours over in Kenmore and Riverhills.
