Power, Points & Ceiling Fans in Brisbane & Logan
Need more power points, USB outlets, or ceiling fans installed? We quote fixed price, do the work to AS/NZS 3000, and hand you a compliance certificate.
Not enough power points, or too many extension leads on the floor?
It’s one of those things people put up with for years. A powerboard daisy-chained to another powerboard. An extension lead running under the rug. A ceiling fan that wobbles or hasn’t been cleaned since 2009 because replacing it feels like a job for later.
Later costs more, and some of it is genuinely unsafe.
We install extra power points, USB-A/USB-C combo outlets, ceiling fans, and hard-wired appliance circuits across Brisbane and Logan. If the wiring in your home is getting on a bit, we can assess that too.
Where people actually need more power
- Home offices that weren’t designed for three screens and a standing desk
- Kitchen benchtops running appliances off one circuit
- Kids’ rooms with a single double power point between four devices
- Garages and outdoor entertaining areas with no weatherproof power
- Bedrooms where the only USB charging is across the room
If you’re renting out a property, extra points and working fans also matter to tenants, and to property managers doing inspections.
Ceiling fans in Brisbane heat
A good ceiling fan running on low can make a room feel three to four degrees cooler and costs a fraction of what an aircon uses overnight. Brisbane summers make them non-negotiable in bedrooms and living areas.
We install ceiling fans of all sizes, including those with integrated LED lighting, and can sort the wiring if there’s no existing light fitting to work from. If your current fan wobbles, hums, or the remote has a mind of its own, we can swap it out.
Signs you need an electrician, not a trip to Bunnings
- Power points with only two prongs (no earth) in an older home
- Outlets that feel warm to the touch or spark when you plug in
- A room with no power points near where you actually sit or work
- You’re planning a renovation and want circuits roughed in before the walls close
- You’ve got an older home (pre-1990s) with wiring that’s never been checked
Some of this is DIY-adjacent in appearance but not in practice. In Queensland, any electrical work beyond changing a light globe must be done by a licensed electrician. We’re licensed and insured, and we issue a certificate of compliance on completion, which matters when you sell the property or make an insurance claim.
What the job involves
A typical power point or fan installation starts with us checking what circuit it’ll go on, whether that circuit has capacity, and whether the wiring condition supports the addition. Most jobs in homes built in the last 30 years are straightforward. Older homes sometimes need a bit more detective work.
For ceiling fans, we assess whether there’s an existing fitting we can use or whether new wiring is needed from the switchboard. We install to AS/NZS 3000 and test before we leave.
We quote fixed price, approved before we start. No surprises.
Honest cost factors
Power points and ceiling fans are among the more affordable electrical jobs, but the price genuinely depends on:
- Access: how easy it is to run cable through the wall or ceiling (single-storey brick vs. double-storey with tight roof space)
- Number of points: adding several at once usually costs less per point than individual trips
- Existing wiring condition: older homes may need circuit upgrades to support the addition
- Fan type: a basic fan with a switch is simpler than a DC motor fan with a remote and integrated lighting circuit
Rough guide: a single new power point typically sits somewhere between $150–$350 installed, depending on access and location. A ceiling fan installation (supply by us or you) is generally $200–$450. Multi-room or larger jobs are quoted as a package, we’ll go through it with you before anything starts.

Common questions
Can I supply my own ceiling fan? Yes. We’re happy to install a fan you’ve purchased. Just check the specs with us before you buy, some fans need a specific wiring configuration, and a few budget models cause headaches we’d rather flag early.
Do I need a safety switch if I’m adding power points? If your switchboard doesn’t already have a safety switch (RCD) on the circuit we’re working on, we’ll tell you. In Queensland, new circuits require safety switch protection. If yours is missing one, we can add it, see our switchboard upgrades page for more detail.
How long does a typical job take? Adding two or three power points in an accessible wall is usually a half-day job or less. Ceiling fans are often an hour or two per fan. We’ll give you an honest time estimate when we quote.
