EV Charger Installation in Brisbane & Logan
Licensed home EV charger installation across Brisbane and Logan, covering 7kW single-phase and 22kW three-phase setups, with a switchboard check and a fixed quote before we start.
Charging at Home the Right Way
You can plug an EV into a normal power point. It works. It also crawls along at maybe 10km of range an hour, so a flat battery takes most of a day to fill, and it leans hard on a circuit that was never built for that kind of sustained load. Most owners try it once. Then they ring a sparky.
A proper charger fixes all of that. Plug in after dinner, wake up to a full battery, and know the wiring behind it is compliant.
What We Install
We supply and fit home EV chargers right across Brisbane and Logan, from the Centenary suburbs out toward the Ipswich fringe and south through Logan. Every job starts with a look at your switchboard before we put a number on paper. No nasty surprises on the day.
7kW Single-Phase vs 22kW Three-Phase
Most Brisbane houses run single-phase power. A 7kW single-phase charger sits on its own 32A circuit and adds roughly 40km of range for every hour it charges. If your household does 50 to 80km a day, an overnight charge covers it with room to spare.
Got three-phase already? Then a 22kW charger is on the table. It charges about three times quicker. That suits high-kilometre drivers, two-EV households, or anyone already running three-phase gear in a shed or workshop. Retrofitting three-phase supply just to get a faster charger rarely stacks up, though. If you want to weigh the numbers, we will run through them with you.
Do You Need Three-Phase?
Probably not. One car, charged overnight, does fine on 7kW single-phase. We will tell you straight which setup fits your situation instead of talking you into supply upgrades you will never use.
What the Job Involves
No two installs are quite the same. The things that move the scope and the price:
- Switchboard condition. Older boards sometimes need a safety switch added or a breaker upgraded before a charger can go on. We check that first. See our switchboard upgrades page for the detail. A safety switch often goes in at the same time.
- Cable run length. Garage right beside the board? Short run, less labour. Carport on the far side of the house? That means conduit running across the place, more cable, more time.
- Smart or load-managed chargers. Some units let you schedule off-peak charging, watch your energy use, or cap the draw so the rest of the house does not trip when the oven and the charger fire up together. Handy if you are on a time-of-use tariff.
- Charger brand and spec. We are not tied to one brand. We will point you at a unit that matches your car, your budget and where you are headed next.
Every install comes with a certificate of compliance. That is the law in Queensland, and it is the bit you will want on file the day you sell the house.

Honest Cost Factors
Most home EV charger installs land somewhere between $900 and $2,500 all up. Where yours sits depends on:
- Switchboard work, if any is needed
- How far the cable has to run
- The charger model you go with
- Whether we are trenching or running conduit through walls
You get a fixed quote before we touch a tool. No hourly guessing.

FAQ
Can I charge my EV from a normal power point? You can. A standard 10A socket gives you about 2.4kW, though, which is slow and not built for hours of continuous load. A dedicated circuit and a proper charger is safer and a lot more practical.
Will my switchboard handle a charger? Most modern boards will. We check before we commit to anything. Old ceramic fuse boards usually need an upgrade first.
How long does installation take? Half a day for most jobs. A long cable run or switchboard work adds time, and we will flag that in your quote up front.
