Good service. Turned up on time and did a great job very quickly. All good.
I now have an as-new aircon. On time, polite and fantastic job. Will definitely get them back to do other units as needed.
PQ Air are very responsive with an enquiry and do try their best to confirm a book in at the earliest They're a good business.
Thank you so much for an exceptional job! So accomodating to come out on a public holiday - great communication and super helpful!
Water and electricity, done to the standard
A pool or spa is one of the few places at home where the wiring rules get genuinely strict, and for good reason. Water and electricity don’t forgive shortcuts. The Australian standards set out RCD protection, minimum clearances from the water, IP-rated fittings that cop rain and splash, and equipotential bonding that ties the metal parts together so a fault can’t turn the whole pool live.
Out our way, around Westlake and the riverside Centenary suburbs, there’s a pool in a lot of backyards. We wire new ones, fix the cheap installs that should never have passed, and bring older gear up to code.
What we handle
- Pool pump circuits, on their own dedicated, RCD-protected supply
- Underwater and garden lighting, run at low voltage through the right transformers
- Spa and heater wiring, sized for the load they actually pull, which is more than most people think
- Equipotential bonding, the mesh and bonding that keeps everything at the same potential so nothing goes live in a fault
- Automation and controls for pumps, lights and heating
- Fixing dodgy work, the corroded fittings and undersized cable we find on installs done on the cheap
The electrical side of a pool safety check
Worth being clear on this, because it trips people up. The pool fence and barrier certificate in Queensland is a separate thing, done by a licensed pool safety inspector. What we handle is the electrical side: making sure the pump, lighting and bonding meet AS/NZS 3000 and the pool-specific rules, so that part of the setup is safe and compliant.
If you’re buying, selling or renting a place with a pool, getting the electrical checked before you settle is cheap next to sorting a nasty surprise later. Corrosion and water damage around pool gear often hide until they don’t.
What it costs
Depends on the job: a new pump circuit is a small one, a full pool fit-out with lighting and automation is bigger. We look at what’s there, tell you what it needs, and give you a fixed price before we start.
